The terabyte per second is a multiple of the unit bit for Data Transfer Rate. The prefix tera (symbol T) is defined in the International System of Units (SI) as a multiplier of 1.0 × 1012 (1 trillion, short scale), and therefore 1 terabyte per second = 1.0 × 1012 byte per second = 1000000000000 byte per second. The terabyte per second has the unit symbol TB/s.
